Try and fathom the logic here. Obamacare isn’t being opposed because it’s too horrible, but because it’s not horrible enough. How can this thing be any worse than it already is? Ask the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
The CHC, an ethno-centric congressional cabal, is by, for, and about latinos, and latinos only. Some of their members have a problem with Obamacare. No not the obvious problems. Not the cost, the takeover of a huge chunk of the American economy, not the death panels (any bureaucrat that is deciding whether you are worthy of care is a death panel), not the risk of incarceration for not having insurance, not abortion funding that apparently is staying in the legislation, but for a reason that is just as insidious as all those other reasons. They have a problem because the bill doesn’t specifically cover illegal aliens. You heard that right. Luis Gutierrez, the whacko that came up with H.R. 4321 wants to add language to the bill that will cover illegal aliens. Well, his bill would do just that. But they wouldn’t be illegal anymore. The fact that there are absolutely no provisions that would stop illegal aliens from fraudulently obtaining government subsidized health care (read: American taxpayers), is not good enough for Gutierrez and his racist thugs. He sees too many issues with the bill, all related to illegal aliens.
“They are enough to say I can’t support this bill,” Gutierrez said during an appearance on MSNBC.
The fact that the CHC does not support this bill is good news, although in the end they may vote for it anyway. That would be a break from their ongoing stance that Hispanics act, think, and vote as a mob. That has proven to be untrue, but for these clowns, their political power is raced based, and as long as they can convince the country that Hispanics are single issue dolts they will retain that power. This could also mean other good news. If Gutierrez is upset that there are no specific goodies for illegal aliens, he must not have confidence in the prospect for immigration reform. Given the popularity of Obamacare, I would say that was an accurate assessment.
It appears that Nancy Pelosi does not have the votes to ram this thing through, and it looks like they will try an illegal up or down vote in the house. They will do an illegal reconciliation maneuver in the senate. Yes, it is illegal, since reconciliation is only be used for budget issues. That would be quite a stretch to include Obamacare as part of a budget issue. However, if the country were to descend into a single payer disaster that would be different. We haven’t gotten there yet. I never thought I would be rooting for the congressional Hispanic caucus, but in this case, they have it right-for all the wrong reasons.
I’ve said before that remedies for discrimination usually involve discrimination against someone or something else to rectify the problem. I couldn’t have come up with a better example if I’d made it up. Don’t look for any content of your character here.
In a move that the Mexican government itself couldn’t have imagined, the feds, courtesy of the Department of Education are launching an investigation regarding allegations the the Los Angeles Unified School District violated the civil rights of English language learners. You heard that right, the LAUSD is going to be hammered for not pandering enough to illegal alien students-at the expense of everybody else.
Citing poor test scores of blacks and Latinos, the DOE suspects that not enough resources are being diverted away from whites and Asians to bring the former up to speed. Funny, it was they who included blacks as English learners.
Federal analysts will review how English learners are identified and when they are judged fluent enough to handle regular course work. They’ll examine whether English learners have qualified, appropriately trained teachers. And they’ll look at how teachers make math and science understandable for students with limited English.
What if they aren’t fluent enough? If they can’t speak English, then it’s up to the parents (many of who do not speak English either) to get those kids in an English immersion class so they can handle regular course work. It isn’t the responsibility for the LAUSD to educate Mexican children. And lets face it folks, this is L.A.; that’s exactly who we’re talking about. And what do they mean when they say make math and science understandable? That’s code for dumb it down. Barry can talk about education and math and science all he wants. This is what he’s actually doing about it.
The DOE is targeting schools on the West side of the San Fernando Valley. Anyone who lives in the area knows that the East side is mostly Latino, and what whites and Asians are left in the valley tend to be on the West side. Those are the schools they’re going after. Those are the ones with the biggest disparity in success rates between races. Yes, it’s all about la raza.What they’re looking to do is divert resources away from kids that actually can speak English and divert them to the illegal alien kids. And who’s civil rights are being violated there? As it is, English speaking kids are forced to slow down and hang back while the slower English learners try to catch up.
And if the dropout numbers are any indicator, they tend not to catch up. But those aren’t just English learners. Latinos and blacks (sorry, if you’re from Africa my apologies, but most black Americans are not) as a whole have a high dropout rate, English or no English. How do they explain that?
I remember Bill O’Reilly had a guest on his show and they discussed this very issue, but it was regarding the black community. According to his guest, to fly right and do well in school was tantamount to acting white, and the peer pressure to be just the opposite was a prime reason for the high dropout rates in the black community. That may be the case among Latinos as well, but there is the language factor. I remember seeing an interview with Fernando Valenzuela, the former Dodger great, who as a player, didn’t speak English. He now calls games for the Dodger’s Spanish audience, but now, he does speak English. When asked how long it took him learn the language, he said about a year. I’m sure he wasn’t a Rhodes scholar by then but he did speak the language. The illegal alien kids can’t take a year out and learn the language? Better yet, they can’t go home to their native country and get an education there, and do some good for their country?
No. Instead, border crossers dump their kids into Americans schools and expect the United States to not only educate the kids, but pay for to boot.
The LAUSD is about to layoff another 4000 employees. Surely teachers will be in that mix. What resources do they have to teach non-English speaking kids? The official numbers are about 1/3 are in this category, but anyone living here knows that the number of English deficient kids in the LAUSD is much higher. They just don’t have the resources to pander to them. And we’re talking about the most welcoming defacto Mexican school district in the country. If they can’t do it, imagine the rest of the country. Make no mistake about it; the LAUSD sucks, but the feds are focusing on ramping up the crown jewel of their self-destruction.
They better find a way to keep it going though. 1/4 of their budget comes from the Feds and they risk it all if they don’t steal from Peter to pay Paul. LAUSD, a corrupt, poorly run defacto Mexican district is in flames, and this just might finish them off. If you have kids in school, don’t get too comfortable. If the feds can pull this on the LAUSD, imagine what they can do in a town near you. Another stake going in the ground in preparation for the amnesty wave.
We need to clean all the riff-raff out in November. That includes RINO’s who have the gall to consider themselves conservative. If you think John McCain is a Democrat in disguise, meet Lindsey Graham.
They call him Lindsey grahamnesty Graham, a champion of open borders to the point that he was willing to tell us bigots, who wanted something as crazy as border security and no amnesty to shut up. Of course he was speaking to his pals from the National Council of La Raza, one of the most racist, anti-American groups being funded by our tax dollars today. They’re all right with Graham though. In fact, he’s so on board with the amnesty agenda, that Barack Obama himself has asked him and another open borders goon, Chuck Shumer on the Democrat side, to come up with amnesty legislation to ram down the throats of America, in much the same fashion as the health care bill. Well, we know that Obamacare has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with taking control of a huge chunk of the economy, and we also know that amnesty has nothing to do with bringing illegal aliens out of the shadows and everything to do with erasing the borders, and thus, the United States. Graham would be happy to help.
The house already has H.R. 4321, an all encompassing amnesty, that not only grants citizenship to every law breaker that ever crossed the border, but guts immigration enforcement to the point where there would be no real need for the border patrol. There would realistically be no border under Gutierrez’ bill. Not doubt Graham and Schumer would come up with something similar. Remember, Schumer is one of the architects of the 1986 amnesty disaster that not only was riddled with fraud, but accelerated illegal immigration. We now have a disaster of such proportions that some states, like California, are all but lost. Illegal aliens and their anchor babies are tearing the state to pieces, and the politicians in Sacramento are facilitating the demise of a once great state.
Now Barack Obama wants to do to the rest of the country what happened to California; make it a defacto Mexican state, complete with crooked politicians, drug gangs, economy draining entitlement cases and a culture that is foreign to America in more ways than one. It doesn’t matter to Graham and Schumer if illegal immigration is destroying Mexico at the same time it is destroying the United States. If an amesty bill gets through, we’ll all be one country. Talk about a spike in unemployment. Somebody has to fund those entitlement programs. How much money do you have left?
That isn’t RINO Graham’s concern. He wants those borders open. Why is another question. Who the hell knows what he’s thinking. His radicalism doesn’t stop there though. He’s a cap and trade man. Yes he is. He’s the one that got together with Democrats to propose global warming legislation in the senate. Yes, even after being exposed for the fraud that it is, Graham in true Dem socialist style is still pushing it. He also wants to close Gitmo, and is helping on that front too. Not sure how much clout he has there, but it’s the thought that counts.
This guy is a Dem. Don’t be fooled. He’s as bad as Dede Scozzafava ever was. And if there is one Republican that needs to hang it up, it’s Lindsey Graham. Yes, there are more, but this clown is a glaring example of what’s wrong with the GOP. How much do you want to bet Steele and the gang are throwing their support behind him?
