How ironic that the very court that struck down affirmative action is about to have a poster child shoved down their throats. Not to mention the rest of us. But then, when has the law ever stopped Barack Obama?
In a move that sent a message that race-based decisions are not only all right, they can take you a long way, Obama nominated Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the next Supreme Court Justice. He didn’t want another white dude in there, and folks, this is as about as far away from white as can be.
In fact, this token pick has even stated that a Latina woman would do better than whitey. And don’t think she won’t use her racist slant in the courtroom. She has already stated that she does:
Imagine a white guy spewing this trash. But it isn’t a white man. It’s a Latina-and she gets a pass.
She has also stated that policy is made on the bench. That’s right, legislate from the bench with a race-based perspective. Hang on whitey because there’s nothing in Washington that can stop this atrocity from soiling the halls of the Supreme Court. Funny though, that the same Supreme Court is likely to reverse a fumbled decision of hers regarding-yes, discrimination against whitey. She threw out the case with barely any opinion at all. Hardly the one for the job, but that isn’t what Obama was looking for.

Question: what Supreme Court ruling does Obama defy by promoting Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court? Also, how is this in any way an instance of affirmative action? Sotomayor was the editor of the Yale Law Review, the most elite publication of the most elite law school in the United States. You really can’t be more qualified than Sotomayor is.
And it seems pretty clear that you’re willing to take a quote out of context to slam Sotomayor for “reverse racism,” or whatever you’d like to call it–what she makes is a speculative, descriptive claim, not a normative claim.
It’s pretty clear that you *resent* liberals, and that’s what’s motivating this–rather than any substantive claims about Sotomayor’s qualifications (or lack thereof). Or really even her political ideology.
You missed the point. Just saying that I “resent liberals” tells me that you feel she is a liberal. Slanted left, therefore not objective. Thanks for making my case for me. And don’t compare her to other SC justices that are biased. We don’t need another.
This was a race-based decision. Even Obama would tell you that. That’s affirmative action mentality. You can parse law and technicalities, but when the dust settles-it’s race based-affirmative action.

A white guy DID spew almost that same trash that Sotomayor did. I can’t remember his name of the top of my head, but he was the president of Harvard and he was fired for it. Can you say double standard?
