Even in the darkest, most absurd days of the Bush administration, I never heard this kind of hate coming from the right. Then again, we’re talking about two different kinds of people.
Though I didn’t see the program (I never do), the clip with Keith Olbermann slamming Fox News and blaming them for the death of an abortion doctor is all over the web. He claims the rhetoric coming out of Fox is what prompted the the loon to go after this doctor. Never mind that this guy was a regular protester and a little off the beam anyway. Let’s put it this way: if you can be influenced to that degree by Bill O’Reilly or someone else at Fox, then there was something wrong with you before you tuned in. Olbermann knows his argument is built upon a false premise, but he has his agenda. Everyone knows that, so I guess that’s why no one was surprised by his outburst. Using his logic you would have to conclude then that if Carrie Prejean, the current Miss California went nuts and killed a plastic surgeon, then the blame for that would fall upon Keith Olbermann. After all he and his guests had some pretty ghastly things to say about her, and what plastic surgeons did to her body. Enough to make her homicidal? I don’t know, ask Keith.
Is that any crazier that Playboy’s hate rape list? Oh yes, conservative women so right, it’s wrong. The fantasy rape piece was pulled by Playboy, but the damage was done. Their already declining readership is bound to take a hit, but if you ask Keith Olbermann, they took it for the team.
The Sotomayor confirmations hearings are coming up. Can’t wait to see the kind of hate that circus will spawn.
