Moreover, the sweeping change brought by modernity and globalization led many Muslims to view the West as hostile to the traditions of Islam.…So that was the reason huh? Not the terrorism, not the misogyny, not the mutilation of their women, not the intolerance, not the xenophobia, but modernity and globalization. What a disconnect. He says violent extremists (Muslim) has exploited this mistrust. You don’t say? We don’t see that kind of hate emanating from other religions.
America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings…A flat out falsehood. Tolerance? Justice? (although Saudi Arabia did behead that child molester-ok score one for Barry) Progress? You call the 10th century progress? Nauseating. As the Holy Koran tells us, “Be conscious of God and speak always the truth.”…Well, he’s already lied in this speech. As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam.…So it was Islam that invented the compass, not somebody studying the effects of magnetic fields. Interesting. I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s story. …Yeah, remember the Barbary pirates? They were a part all right. Not something you want to highlight in Egypt. dedicated to a simple concept: E pluribus unum: “Out of many, one.”…Keep that in mind when you push your amnesty bill later this year.
That is why the U.S. government has gone to court to protect the right of women and girls to wear the hijab, and to punish those who would deny it.…The right??? Did he say the right??? Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism – it is an important part of promoting peace.…I can’t even comment on that. On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people – Muslims and Christians – have suffered in pursuit of a homeland.…and not a scrap from their surrounding Muslim brothers. Twist in the wind. Hamas does have support among some Palestinians Some? WTF they were elected! when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims…Oh, man, what kind of happy fluffy land is this guy from?
And any nation – including Iran – should have the right to access peaceful nuclear power …Sure, we can trust Iran-Doh! Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance…I thought he said earlier to speak the truth? Islam/tolerance, oxy-moron. Now let me be clear: issues of women’s equality are by no means simply an issue for Islam. In Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia, we have seen Muslim-majority countries elect a woman to lead. Meanwhile, the struggle for women’s equality continues in many aspects of American life, and in countries around the world.…Tell me he didn’t say that. Tell me he didn’t suggest that Islam has fairer treatment towards women. Truth Barry, remember, truth. The same is true for the astonishing progress within Muslim-majority countries from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai. …Yeah, can’t beat that slave labor can you.
