Obvious(?) Bad Voters = Bad Politicians

The ignorance of the American electorate is embarrassing, and it is reflected in poll numbers. How can someone think that a particular politician’s policies suck, and at the same time think he (or she) is doing a good job? Well…

I’ve talked before about the apathy and ignorance of California voters, and Los Angeles voters are leading the charge. Despite a strong majority of Angelenos that think the city is on the wrong track, those same people think that current Los Angeles mayor, Antonio “MECHa” Villaraigosa is doing an all right job. How could this be? If you ask these voters what the mayor has done to make this city better, you’ll likely just get a blank stare. Subsidizing crooked developers with tax dollars? They probably never heard about that. Tax money for “anti gang” programs, that end up funding activities of active gangs? What? Yes. 11% of his time actually doing city work? How much? Yeah. “Nobody is illegal”, that’s why you sit in traffic hours a day? Yup. And you subsidize the housing as well. Don’t ask, don’t tell. But the scholarly voters in L.A. think that the man who stuck it in anything that moved while his cancer stricken wife sat home with the kids is all right.

It’s goes beyond local though. Take Barack Obama. According to Rasmussen, the majority of voters think he’s doing at least an all right job. but when asked about specific policies, the numbers change. Only 37% think the country is going in the right direction. Voters think the stimulus plan sucks-by a 3-1 margin. Cash for clunkers is a stupid idea. Unfortunately, you can’t get too complicated with some of the respondents. Try to explain cap and trade to the American Idol crowd.

There’s the uninformed, and added to that, my confusion theory. Take Obama’s poll numbers. Rasmussen is pretty consistent, but others vary wildly. Who you gonna’ believe? Did you see the latest socialized health care poll? Think that’s accurate? Well, accurate enough to keep sound bite absorbers and headline readers confused. Easier to lead that group than one that knows where it’s going. And there is a group that does stay informed. That’s the group that scares politicians the most.

  • Ask those thousands of Americans that has lost their jobs, ask the schools across America that laying off teachers. Ask the Americans that wants our borders safe, ask the American people that has been paying for health insurance all their life if they want to pay for everyone else including the illegals in this country and will be coming here for all the freebies if Obama has his way! Yes you will get a different vote in 2012 than you did in 2008 and do you think those people will vote for a person that caused them to lose jobs and money and paying higher taxes when in fact he lied to them that he would ceate jobs and raise no taxes on the middle and low income!
Yes poll the people that Obama has hurt in more ways than one, the hurt Americans are growing at a fast pace! Obama is no other than a Jimmy Carter who lasted 4 years!

  • Obama has made the Employment Situation worst (much worst) and the number of unemployed is still on the rise! The millions of Americans thats without a job will not agree with you Larrys, they would be out of their minds to vote again for Obama when he said he had the answer to the ecommy and went on his big spending spree that he does not even know where the money went except that he gave billions to Banks and GMC which had to go bankrupt because Obama’s billions of dollars didn’t help. Many of those auto workers has lost their jobs!
States are going bankrupt, school shutting down, benefits cut and the democrats are raising taxes on everything from sweet drinks to tobacco products. Obama has over double America debt and has now amitted that America is out of money. Obama spent the tax payers money and yes thats why its all gone and he still wants to spend trillions on healthcare. Larrys if you think Obama’s plan of spending is working then you should not be teaching our kids, because nothing adds up!

  • I know its off topic but then again since you brought up the SC Governor in another post, how about democrat bribery? Maybe John Conyers should have an affair. There will still be more coming out of this bribery case, his wife pleads guilty hoping to stop more information coming out. Wonder just how deep John Conyers had his fingers in this bribery crime?
