Broke: California Issues IOU’s

But legislators in Sacramento are taking the holiday weekend off anyway. Why not? These are the same goons that destroyed California in the first place. What are they going to do when they get back?

California has started to issue IOU’s in lieu of money because-the state is flat broke. 8th largest economy in the world, and it has no money, is $24 billon in debt (just for this fiscal year), and has the lowest credit rating of any of the 50 states. Once again, the wrangling is over whether to make deep cuts or jack up taxes. You figure out which parties are proposing what. The same problems exist now that existed during the last budget fiasco. Unions and ill-conceived ballot initiatives that have locked in huge chunks of the budget, the waste and the fraud that goes hand in hand with most governments, and the refusal to acknowledge the billions of dollars that illegal aliens are costing the state. The result is an indigent state government being run by buffoons that will roll over to any special interest that will line their pockets. Don’t forget the Mexican socialists that troll the halls of Sacramento as well. They understand that any cuts will affect their illegal alien constituents. Obviously, they are intractable, but since there are so many of them, getting around the tax issue will be difficult, if not impossible. This, despite the fact that Californians recently said loud and clear they do not want any more taxes.

No matter what comes of this budget, the original problem will remain: Sacramento. Their ineptitude caused this mess, and they’ll still be there after the budget is passed. Ultimately though, the burden will fall on the people. It’s the people that voted these clowns in, and it’s the people that can remove them. Will the clueless become clued in? I guess anything is possible.
