Tea Party SFV California

This was my first bash, put together by a chapter of the American Tea Party Movement. Not sure who they were, but it looked liked a group that gave a damn, and that was good enough for me.

It was a peaceful, almost kumbaya type of event on the organizing side of it. Had I put it together, it probably would have taken on a more strident tone. There were some angry people there. What do I know, I’m no organizer. I understand mob mentality though. Nothing like a group of angry people gathered together. This group though, looked like a bunch of good folks who have had it with Washington.

Just in case there were any provacateurs in the crowd though, L.A.’s finest were on the scene.

The crowd was a little smaller than I thought it might be, but I guess it was a pretty good turnout for liberal, loon-filled California (copped that from Chicago Ray).

Well, I got to meet some like-minded folks, those of us that have had it with the wild spending, the fiscal chicanery, the tilt of this country to the extreme left, and the taxation without representation. And brother we have no representation.

Looks like these tea parties are gaining some momentum. And you lefty loons can laugh all you want. These are Americans taking their country back. Pull up a chair and see how it’s done.

  • Larry, you’re a troll. Do you even have a blog? Why don’t you stop playing devil’s advocates and wasting my server space?

  • larrys

No, I don’t have a blog. Is having one’s own blog provide a special status, a sense of purpose, a point of view more worthy? Does one have to have a blog of their own in order to comment on yours? Are you not interested in viewing points of view other than your own? Are you like your good friend GTP who only posts those who agree with his own idiocy?

You felt like you accomplished something in attending the little local Tea Party. That’s great, and you felt a need to write about it, which is fine. And you decided that the organizers have stumbled upon some unique method of effecting change in society, something that nobody else has ever encountered. And you and your fellow teabaggers are inviting us to sit back and watch, as you all teach us a lesson.

That’s your opinion. You’re entitled to it. And others — people who may think that your methods are not so unique — have a right to express an opinion that lets some of the air out of your hot air balloons. Some even think that something concrete be accomplished BEFORE pretending that some level of expertise has been achieved.

I’m sorry if my opinion that is contrary to yours, in this instance, causes you such concern.

First of all, don’t be condescending to me. You don’t have that kind of status. And yes, bloggers do have a special status, and a sense of purpose. Otherwise they wouldn’t be blogging. Point of views are subjective. No, I’m not going to delete your comments, but at same time, it’s not necessary to leave one, because I already know what you’re going to say: the exact opposite of what I write. So why bother?

If you feel compelled to continue to leave comments, go right ahead, but don’t expect me to respond.

  • The left may laugh at the Tea parties now but they won’t be for long.
I love that Vaseline sign, it is all too true.

  • I see that you showing your stupid support for Obama no matter what the man says larrys! I figured it wouldn’t be long before rjjrdq notice that you run from one post to another trying to back your lover boy Obama and by the way thats why you’re no longer allow to post on my blog! The next thing you will be calling rjjrdq names which is the liberal motto! Why don’t you go into the corner of that class room in Colorado Springs and be quiet!

  • Karen

    Dear rjjrdq:
Thank you for posting the selected pix of the “America Lives!” rally, which was intended to celebrate July 4 by distributing flags, political literature (U.S. Constitution, info on contacting elected officials etc.) and allow a public demonstration to support U.S. conservative principles, which the posters reflect. It was designed to be a bit of Americana with a political punch. Frankly, it was a one-woman organizer show–with the kindness and generousity of a professional printer (handbills)and 4 excellent patriots who volunteered audio visual, staging and “booth” support. We had more than 150 actually register and top attendance was 200. (That does not include the 12 LAPD I personally met:)
I’m responding to your kindness to post pix because some of the folks who stood out in the 90-plus-degree heat for the 90-minute event will appreciate ANY documenting of their involvement.
Notice, my comment is of explanation and gratitude.
Thank you! God Bless America. Only in this country and in other Constitutional-Republics could this happen. In Iran, people are dying for what we did by choice to express our freedom. (Yes, Larry, there are 5 civil rights in the First Amendment. On July 4, we exercised all 5–including mentioning God.)
    Cheers!

The tea parties are having an effect on congress cause now they are starting to go against Obama on some of the issues where its going to raise taxes, and worried about how they can pay for such things as Government ran healthcare! I can’t wait to see the Tea Party walk on Washington D.C., it should be a big one!

  • Greggo

    Hi fellow TEA Party Patriots,

I was happy to attend your July 4th Party, and will attend every future one.

Karen… I really appreciate your self motivation to plan the rally. It’s ~always~ difficult right at the beginning to overcome the inherent inertia in starting something from scratch, but it’s a ~good~ beginning.

I recall reading something about an anti government healthcare demonstration on Friday July 17th. Has anyone considered another sidewalk session? If you do, I’ll be there. It’s no end of fun waving a flag and yelling at the cars!

    Take Care,

    Greg

  • Hi Greggo,
This is actually my blog, not the Tea Party Patriot site. You can find that here:

    Glad you stopped by though.

  • Looks as if the American people are turning towards the Republicans now that they see Obama’s policies are far left socialist and not working! Obama will soon be down there with the House leader Nancy soon as his ratings are dropping fast! The honeymoon is over!
