Car Czar Bails Out

Or gets out of dodge, whatever pun you want to use. The string of goons that have been anointed czars seems to have no end.

The latest czar the never should have been is Steve Rattner. He’s the one that that sold off chunks of GM and Chrysler for cheap, and then forced creditors to take pennies on the dollar. Scores of jobs went on the chopping block in the process. Wish I could lay down that kind of law to my creditors. Now that the damage is done Ratt is skipping town.

It turns out that Ratt’s former company, Quadrangle Group, was involved in a little pay to play regarding handling the billions in investment dollars available from pension funds. It looks like Quadrangle was paying kickbacks to get a hold of these contracts, and Rattner may have been involved. Ratt, that kind of pay to play is illegal. Only Rod Blagojevich would defend you.

Sure, they’ll probably get little more than a slap on the wrist. That is unless there’s more beneath the surface.

So while the big 3 are just a shell of what they once were, with a chunk of what’s left being outsourced, Obama is in Michigan finally telling the truth: Those jobs ain’t ever coming back. Huh, the same reality he bashed McCain on during the campaign. A little short on that 600,000 jobs by summer pledge. That’s what the people wanted to hear though. They wanted to hear it. The psychology of bullshit is another discussion.
