With a thrill down his leg, Chris Matthews of MSNBC did the only thing he could do when confronted with the specter of America balking at the policies of his messiah: He played the race card.
Matthews invited the Wall Street Journal’s Stephen Moore on to ostensibly give his take on why the American people attending tea parties and town hall meetings were upset. Moore got past the $800+ billion porkulus bill, but that’s where Matthews, who has made clear he has more than just a political interest in Barack Obama, cut him off. Matthews suggested gave his opinion that the reason people were upset is that there was a black man in the White House. Never mind the issues, never mind the insane policy decisions, the reason was…whitey hates the black man. He even played a clip from a town hall meeting as “proof”. There was no reference, no intimation of race what so ever. It didn’t make sense. A complete disconnect from what he was saying.
It didn’t matter. Matthews let his sexually charged emotions get the best of him. He worships Obama. He’ll say and do anything to defend him, even pulling out the dilapidated race card in a moment of synapse deprivation. That’s too bad, because his crying wolf may have damaged race relations in this country. Not only is he getting anyone stupid enough to listen to him riled up, but when a genunine race issue comes up, nobody will listen…to him. No Chris, 20 years of indoctrination from Jeremiah Wright didn’t do a thing to Obama. It’s the rest of us. You’re a brilliant man, you chin wiping jackass. Stop trying to start a race war.
