If the truth exists, no matter how many lies, obfuscations, misrepresentations, contradictions and threats are thrown out there, if it exists, eventually it will reveal itself.
And reveal itself it did, from the unlikely source of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. The house passed a bill today that would prevent rate increases for Medicare part B, the part that covers doctors visits. It’s a bone being thrown to seniors who under Obamacare will see Medicare slashed by billions. The drug prescription part of Medicare is going full steam ahead with its increase, but as I said, this is just a bone. The bill would stop increases for all recipients under part B, even though the majority of Americans on the plan would not see increases anyway due to no increases in social security.
That’s the part that Steny Hoyer has a problem with. He voted against the bill, and in his reasoning gave away what he really thought of Obamacare. “If we take care of everybody, we won’t be able to take care of those who need us most,” Hoyer said. I bet he wished he could take those words back. The truth can sting, can’t it Steny? So there you have it. He just summed up Obamacare in a nutshell. There is no way to cover 30-47 million more people (depending on what numbers are convenient for you that day), and not have it cost one more dime. There’s no way that rationing wouldn’t happen given the country is already experiencing a shortage of doctors. Pile millions more on their workload and see what shortage really means. It means rationing is absolutely certain. Now pile millions of freshly amnestied illegal aliens on top of that, along with their chain migrating family members. The result is an impossible plan that would decimate the health insurance industry and destroy health care for all but the wealthiest few who could afford to pay cash and line the pockets of their personal physicians. There’s always a way with money.
The problem is that the United States doesn’t have any of that money. China has it, and it seems to me that they wouldn’t be inclined to fork over billions more in money that may never be paid back in order to perpetuate a scheme that has failed before it was even implemented. If congress pulls a fast one and rams this thing through against the wishes of the American people, there will be carnage at the voting booth in 2010. It looks like there may be anyway.

E-Verify could help emergency rooms identify illegal immigrants using forged documents and enable law enforcement to track the employer. That business should be forced to pay for the person’s injury or treatment instead of the proverbial taxpayers. Schools, colleges could check new student admittances for their immigration status. The E-Verification identification system could accomplish numerous other extraction processes, in determining a person’s right to government benefits. In addition, I’m for Health Reform and public option for some family members. Illegal immigrants should be exempt, except for emergency hospital access.
