Climate Change Treaty Dead?

I never thought I would see the day when I would say China to the rescue. Actually they could care less about our welfare, they just covered their own behinds. It may all work out though.

Barack Obama is prepared to sign over U.S. sovereignty to a fictitious global warming scam coalition that presents itself as some kind of global warming treaty, to be signed in Copenhagen later this year. The treaty would not only put a stranglehold on any attempts by the U.S. to develop viable domestic energy sources, but would essentially suck billions, if not trillons of dollars out of U.S. coffers that would be deposited into the bank accounts of third world dictators all over the globe. I think they refer to it as a carbon penalty or some other kind of goofy nomenclature. There’s a little problem with Barry’s scheme though: China and India won’t play ball.

India indicated months ago that they wouldn’t sign on to anything that would stunt their economic growth. China hinted at it as well, but now they’ve come right out and said basically, you can forget it. Other countries, such as Mexico and South Africa, are unlikely to destroy themselves either. At least not in this fashion. Even Obama’s buddy Lula in Brazil won’t go for this. Barry stands alone.

So with the two most populous countries in the world not participating in this charade, Obama is left standing there like an idiot on the world stage, as he has so many times before. To go this thing alone would just be a waste of time. China is the #1 emitter of greenhouse gases, topping the United States. They’re not going to play Barry. China calls the shots now. That occurred billions of dollars ago. And I’m sure they wouldn’t be happy about loaning billions more to the United States, just to see it given away to third world cess pools with little chance of the money doing any good for those populations. Nice try, Barry. Obama will keep trying to turn the United States into a third world utopia though. You know he will.

  • Obama standing alone on the world stage looking like an idiot? He must be getting used to that by now. He will probably sign it anyway hoping that his great leadership skills 9the ones that he thinks he has) will entice others to follow.
If Obama signs this “treaty” the United States is in big trouble, hopefully China and India will prove to be the countries that bring this down.

  • The problem is Obama don’t care about America, he wants to bring her down into the bottonless pit with him. Can someone name just a few things Obama has done thats good for America and her people?

I think you’re right Goodtime, he does want to bring American down.

  • President Trickle Down

President Obama’s administration and the Congress of 2009 will go down in history as the “Trickle Down Gang” with President Obama coming to be known for all time as “President Trickle Down”.

In case it has escaped anyone’s notice, the Obama administration with help from their trusty sidekicks in Congress have thus far called on the Federal Reserve Bank(s) to order more than 4 TRILLION dollars from our Treasury Department and made it available AT NO COST to the following deserving groups:

    - The Insurance Companies like AIG
    - The Mortgage Banks like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack
    - The Commercial Banks like Chase, Wells Fargo and Bank of America
    - The Automobile manufacturers like Chrysler and GM
    - The Auto Dealers through the “Cash for Clunkers” program (cutsie name for a corporate welfare program don’t you think?).
    - The Defense contractors – who need us to always be at war with someone, somewhere, for some reason, and who are provided with unlimited annual cost increases for the arms they produce.
    - And plans are already well underway to help that most needy of corporate groups, the Medical Services Industry, with a windfall of unimaginable proportions.

…all with the stated purpose of helping the folks at the bottom of the food chain, whose lives have already been, if not completely destroyed, then at least severely disrupted by the idiotic actions of their government over the past 50 or so years time….but never more so than in just the last 10 month’s time.

All of these giveaways have been or will be paid for with borrowed money that was just created electronically out of thin air, and which has already served to create extraordinary inflationary pressures due to the tremendous devaluation of our currency all over the world. Inflationary pressures that our government is not acknowledging at this time. But which are there nonetheless.

For example, The Subway foot long sandwich has recently gone up in price from $5 to $6 (a 20% increase). The Macdonalds Sausage and egg McMuffin was 99 cents. It just recently went up to $1.39 (that’s a 40% increase). And these foods related examples are just the tip of the iceberg. Anything made of steel, aluminum, or plastic has gone up roughly 6% since just the first of this year. In every country around the world.

At the same time, our fearless leaders in the Administration and Congress have already warned us in advance that those at the BOTTOM of the food chain will not be seeing their Social Security COLA increases this year and possibly next year as well. After all, SOMEBODY has to pay a price for all the government induced suffering that has been inflicted over the Past 50 years. Why not have the people that are already suffering the most…just suffer some more. Heck, they are already used to it aren’t they? And the people at the top of the food chain have never suffered, and probably wouldn’t be able to handle it if they were to also be made to share the pain.

No, our government has, after long deliberation, decided that it is (regrettably of course) best that those who are already used to suffering, also bear the brunt of any new suffering coming down the pike.

President Trickle Down received his education in economics in law school and in the dark back rooms of Chicago politics, not at the University of Chicago’s Business School. Economics at the school President Trickle Down attended had a single overriding theme. “Show me the money!” Now he is using that vast store of economic knowledge to save us all.

This is President Trickle Down and his sidekicks in the Congress idea of what “justice for all” is all about.
And, the number of citizens at the BOTTOM of the food chain is growing, every day, and has been for the past 30 years time. The government tells us that the unemployment rate is 8.5% to 9.5%, but that in fact it it’s really more like 3.5%, because 5% don’t really want to work and won’t accept jobs offered to them.

But the government (as usual) fails to finish the sentence. The fact is that 5% will not accept jobs offered to them because the job being offered pays less than the cost of accepting the job! After day care, clean clothes, transportation costs, social security and taxes, the amount they would receive each week would be less than they had to pay out to keep the job. What the government should admit is that 5% can’t afford to accept the crappy low paying jobs they are being offered. So we have to import immigrants to do this work. Illegally if necessary. After all, illegal immigrants have no expectation of achieving the American Dream. They just want to avoid starvation. That is good enough for them.

If only that that were the worst of it. But it’s not. The unemployed and severely underemployed percent of the work force is not 8.5%. It is almost 30%.

    - There is the “official” tally of 8-9% that the government admits to. (really only 3.5% by their standards).
    - There is an additional 10% unemployed that are no longer acknowledged as such by the government.
    - There is an additional 11% that have been forced to replace 1 good paying job with 2 (or more) low paying jobs that don’t even come close to equaling in pay what the prior good paying job used to pay. (Oh, and did I mention that they also lost health benefits when they lost the good paying job?)

So, the real unemployed-severely underemployed percent of the working population is almost 30%, and not 3.5% as we are being told by our fearless leaders. That really sucks!

But once again, even that is not the worst of it. Each of those unemployed-underemployed workers has DEPENDANTS relying on their (lost or severely reduced) income. Like children too young to work, a marriage partner too ill to work (and with no insurance), and elderly parents unable to work and needing financial and other assistance. On average each unemployed-underemployed person making up that displaced 30% of the workforce has two others relying on them for their sustenance and livelihood.

The total able workforce is about 152 million people (out of 295 million overall population). Thirty percent of that number amounts to about 45 million willing and able bodied citizens that are presently not working or who are seriously underemployed and who have been reduced to eating Top Ramin because they can no longer afford meat to eat, buying their clothes at Goodwill, and driving “clunkers”, because that’s all that they can now afford. Add in the DEPENDANTS of these left-behind groups, and you now have a total of 135 million people living in America for whom the dream has long since vanished.

And as of right now, there is no bright horizon likely to come their way. The number of people being disenfranchised by their government continues to increase at the rate of a bit more than 3/10 of 1 percent a year, with no end in sight. This depression we are in now started more than 27 years ago, and insidiously has now claimed the lives and dreams of 46.2% of all the people now residing in the United States of America.

But our government, whose official motto is “Hakunna Matada” (don’t worry…be happy!), has consciously chosen to concentrate all of it’s press on the 53.8% whose heads are still above water; no matter that the boat they are in is seriously leaking and doomed if the leak can’t be stopped.

”President Trickle Down” is an affable sort, and a great public speaker. Possibly without peer in that regard at this point in time. But his actions belie his words. In fact while railing against the “special interests” he has instead proven himself to in truth be the errand boy of the special interests. He has become what he went there to replace. It is sad that one so seemingly full of bright promise could so easily and quickly be seduced by the dark side of the force.
The TRILLIONS of dollars being produced in electronic form by our Treasury Department for exclusive use by the 12 independently owned and non-government affiliated (in any way) Federal Reserve Banks were generated for the stated purpose of helping us recover from the effects of the current depression.

I guess it depends on your perspective. From what I can see (like most of us on the outside looking in), it would appear to be the single largest theft in the history of not only the world, but possibly the universe.
It is a theft of unimaginable proportions, effected by those in power not to save us or our country, but to line even more the pockets of those already at the top of the food chain, and not just here in the U.S., but all over the world.

President Trickle Down’s job, as defined by the interests he has decided to serve, is to use his charisma and prowess at public speaking to make us all feel good about ourselves, while he and his sidekicks in the Congress are busy flushing what remains of our lives and dreams down the toilet.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had all I can take from this bunch of charismatic idiots. I didn’t vote for anyone running for any federal office in either of the last two elections. Why? Because I refuse to vote for the lesser of evils any more. Our willingness to do that for the last 50 years is in large part responsible for us being where we are now, holding on to a badly tarnished and quickly vanishing American Dream.

The good news is that there is a way back to the time when the American Dream was alive and well, and part of EVERY American citizen’s future. It won’t be easy, but it is possible…. if we act quickly enough.

For starters, I think we need to educate ourselves and come to really understand how we got into this mess. It didn’t happen overnight, and it was not just the fault of the party in power at any one point in time. It was an insidious process that took years, actually decades, to put into place. Most of the time the government actions that precipitated the depression we are now in were probably well intended. Perhaps the road to hell really is paved with good intentions. For a more detailed look at how we got from “justice for all” to “how much justice can you afford?” I recommend visiting the website http://www.AmericaII.org.

Second, I think that we have to take responsibility for our own complicity in what has happened. Our present situation, which is dire to say the least, didn’t just happen on Obama’s watch. It also didn’t just happen on Bush II’s watch, Clinton’s watch, Bush I’s watch, Reagan’s watch or Carter’s watch. It didn’t just happen on the Democrats watch, and it didn’t just happen on the Republicans watch. So, whose watch did it happen on? Who should I direct my anger at for our present dire outlook?

    It happened on MY watch.

    And yours.

And, it is up to US to figure a way out of the mess we are in. The real bottom line is this: A clear majority of us have for too long chosen to remain willfully ignorant of the real problems facing us, and have instead accepted unqualified people to run our government; and then we have allowed them to stay on well beyond the time when they had proven themselves incapable of making rational decisions in many of the areas we turned over to them to handle on our behalf. If we want and expect things to really get better, it all starts by getting personally involved, really involved, and seeking out and electing better leaders.

Crunch time is just around the corner, if it isn’t already here. Within the next 5-6 years America is going to called upon to face its makers and we will, all of us, be called upon individually to show that in fact we still deserve to live in a country where such a thing as the American Dream not only could, but did once exist for all citizens.

I guess the big question is…Do we still have the right stuff?
