For instance, the issue with the "death panels" should be left alone. There was much ado made about them when the legislation was first being crafted and it turns out there was nothing to them. The end of life counseling that is in the legislation is not the same thing as deciding who gets health care and who doesn't. It is simply end-of-life counseling, letting people know what their options are, such as living wills, hospice care, etc. If we insist on beating this "death panel" issue to death, when it is really non-existent, then we may very well loose this battle. We need to focus on what it really in the bill, not something that is being made up by the GOP leadership because they know it scares most people to death.
