Are you happy NY 23rd? The fraud you put into office not only lied to you, but was put into a position of damaging the rest of the country. He broke four campaign promises as soon as he walked in the door. For all of you who voted for Bill Owens, thanks.
The lies and deception just keep on flowing out of New York’s 23rd district. When RINO Dede Scozzafava was exposed for the closet Democrat that she is, conservative Doug Hoffan jumped into the race to try and give other conservatives in the district some kind of choice. He did, and it doomed Scozzafava’s deceitful campaign. She dropped out, and promptly endorsed the Democrat, Bill Owens. Her justification was that Owens was a moderate, and Hoffman was a neophyte unknown, essentially unqualified to hold office at the congressional level. Well, she may have been half right.
Owens did present himself as a moderate during the campaign, with notable opposition to a public health option, a promise that he would not vote for any health care bill that included Medicare cuts, taxes on the middle class, or taxes on existing insurance plans. Sounds moderate enough. Pelosicare included all four of those things, and Owens voted for the bill. He lied to the voters, lied his way into office. In fact, he’s still lying right now.
A statement released today by Owens confirms that Owens is either lying (my assertion), or that he has no idea what he’s talking about (another possibility).
“This legislation will reform the insurance industry and provide increased access to affordable healthcare without taxing health care benefits, cutting Medicare benefits or raising taxes on the middle class, and that is exactly the direction we need to go.”
He must be talking about some other bill, because the one he just voted for is the complete opposite of his statement. He knows. This was the plan. BS the voters long enough to get into office and then do what you were going to do all along. He may not care if he’s re-elected next year. As in the Scozzafava case, who knows what was offered to him. One thing is for sure, if the voters knew what he was planning to do, Doug Hoffman would be a congressman right now. Are you angry NY 23? You ought to be. Let me give you some advice: There’s a little tool the voters can use called a recall. I suggest you use it before this guy does any more damage.
NY voters really got screwed with this guy, actually we all got screwed with this guy. This has to be one of the most brazen liars in political history. His whole campaign platform was a lie and the conservative voters wanted to believe him. This man is a disgrace.
Why would you expect anything else from a liberal democrat? Lie, cheat , steal for the greater good of the nanny state. It’s all they know.
Republicans helped create this disaster by backing Scozzafava in the first place. A clinic in how to screw something up.
And he did it in the shortest time record possible. Skunk.
I think it is some kind of record. MSM were smug that he won, but not a word about this story.
