New York 23rd District Election Not Over

You’ve heard the term before: voting irregularities. It seems that all the votes in New York’s 23rd district haven’t been counted, and Doug Hoffman may still have a chance.

Without a doubt, the entire election process in that district was irregular, from a RINO backed by national RINO’s to Republicans losing a long held seat, and now to this, a significant number of uncounted votes. About 6000 absentee ballots have yet to be counted, and nobody seems to know why. Owens’ lead is now down to about 3000, so although it will be a tough road for Hoffman to pull it out, a close result may justify a recount.

In the meantime, can somebody tell me how Bill Owens can go to congress, be seated, and cast a vote for Pelosicare before all the votes in his own election have been counted? He may actually lose! Where is the GOP on this one? Owens may not even be a congressman, yet he was able to cast maybe the most important vote he’ll ever cast. Look at this scenario. Pelosi needed what, 218 votes, right? They got 220. Take away Owens’ vote, and have Cao actually be the Republican he claims to be, and all it would take is one Democrat to say no, and Pelosi’s bill dies. As it stands now, buy insurance or go to jail looms on the horizon. That’s how important this vote was.

So what happens if Hoffman actually pulls this thing out? Is Owens going to fight this? After all, Hoffman did concede, when he thought that the election was out of reach. That wasn’t his fault though. Well, Owens was sworn in, he was seated as a congressman. Can he be removed now? Could this thing be headed for the courts? Whatever may happen, Bill Owens should never have been seated. The election continues at this very moment. Maybe if the GOP shows a little spine and gets behind Hoffman, and looks at these irregularities, and the rejected ballots, just maybe…
