With a failed stimulus plan, unemployment in double digits (and those are just the ones they’re still counting), a crippling cap and trade tax plan, a disastrous and unaffordable health care takeover looming, and a skyrocketing national debt, the Obama regime has decided that this is the perfect time to introduce amnesty.
Homeland hack freak Janet Napolitano reintroduced the plan during a speech to the radical think tank, Center for American Progress. Her lies, obfuscations, and contradictions would have been amusing if not for the possible ramifications. Lie #1: She is still using that 12 million number of illegals. I’ve pointed this out before: That’s the same number that W was using in his first term. Is she saying nobody has crossed since at least 2000? Not even Napolitano would dispute that, even though she obviously has no problem contradicting herself in the next sentence. We know that Bear Stearns put the number at closer to 20 million (which I think may be a low ball number as well), but Napolitano/Obama don’t want to stop there. In her speech she talks about improved legal flows for immigrants and their families. Their families? Now how many people are we talking about?
She self congratulates herself on the improvement of border security, and the fencing that has gone up since 2006. Well, the fence is not done, and in fact, what was originally envisioned never materialized. Not only have illegal aliens, which included violent gang members, drug smugglers, human smugglers, and terrorists (yes, remember them?) just moved to unbordered areas to cross, the fence that in place is little more than a joke. What happened to the double fencing that was supposed to go up? Gutted by Congress. So now we have single fencing, vehicle barriers that anyone can just walk past, and virtual fencing, that may or may not work. Even when the technology is working, there may not be any Border Patrol to move in and make any arrests. If they do move in, Ramos and Campeon can tell what they may be facing. As for the “fencing”, we now know that it is starting to be dismantled on the Mexican side for scrap metal. That’s right, they’re tearing it down as we speak. If that isn’t enough to steam you, some of the border fence was built by the very illegal aliens is was designed to keep out. That’s right, companies contracted to build the fence had illegal aliens doing the job that Americans won’t do. Are you telling me they can’t find Americans to build the border fence?
Napolitano also mentions that they have reduced the back log of immigrations background checks. They haven’t ever been able to do this. How did they pull it off so fast. Use your imagination. She also mentions that they are encouraging businesses to use E-Verify. Why doesn’t she demand it? Why does she ignore santuary cities? Why does she prevent her own DHS agent from conducting raids? Why did she strip Sheriff Joe Arpaio of federal authority to make arrests? She’s even looking to reduce penalties for those that cross illegally. Remember, it was Napolitano that said that crossing the border wasn’t a crime. That is how she really feels.
Moreover, some current laws covering immigration-related fraud have to be brought more in line with common sense. Right now, a corrupt immigration attorney who facilitates hundreds of immigration violations by knowingly helping aliens fraudulently seek asylum or permanent residence is treated almost the same as an alien who buys a single fake green card.
What is she saying there? Lessen the penalties for illegal aliens. Yes, there is need for reform. Yes, the system is broken. I just outlined why it’s broken. Current laws are not being enforced. Amnesty doesn’t fix the problem. In fact it will make it worse by encouraging further illegal immigration. We can’t afford an influx of people from a failed state down South. We don’t have the money. We are out of money. Erasing a border and opening the door to a failed narco state that boasts a population of over 100 million would be a disaster that would dwarf cap and trade and health care. This is bigger folks. This will change the face of America with a swipe of a pen. Broke, sagging infrastructure, skyrocketing unemployment, a bleak job market, outsourcing (no that never stopped folks), and a collapsing dollar on the world market are not the conditions that facilitate amnesty. Do you still have a doubt as to what Obama wants to do this country?

While POTUS is away, Biden has a meeting with Sheriff Arpaio.
Maybe, maybe not.

Kaus has some good arguments as well.

That Kaus is ain’t half bad. How ironic/oxy-moronic that Napolitano has to admit enforcement works in order to show how “broken” the system is.
