Either that, or she doesn’t give a damn what the American people think. Most likely a disturbing combination of the two. Love her or hate her, it makes absolutely no difference to her.
Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco freak, is still pressing on with the socialized health care scheme, even in light of the resounding victory by Scott Brown in Massachusetts. She’s insisting the the people actually want this thing to happen, despite the fact that blue Massachusetts may have driven a stake into its heart. But for Pelosi, yesterday was ostensibly all about Martha Coakley. Never mind the hugely unpopular bill that just passed the senate. Folks, that is a bill even the house is unhappy with. Never mind the Lousiana Purchase offered to Mary landfill Landrieu, never mind the Nebraska deal that was just gasoline on this already burning fire, never mind all that. For Pelosi, this was all Coakley’s fault. I haven’t seen a party turn on an ally like that since Doug Hoffman was raked over the coals by Republicans. But that was a tactical error. Pelosi is in a dreamland.
A growing number of Democrats are wide awake though. Jim Webb has already suggested that this thing be put on the back burner until Brown is seated. Evan Bayh is saying they’ve gone too far, too fast. Anthony Weiner is saying that the bill is all but dead. Even Barney Frank is talking as if this is a blow that cannot be recovered from. And if the list of Dems that are starting to balk, a list that joins other Dems in the house that already balked at this thing doesn’t amount to writing on the wall, even Barack Obama is now telling congress not to ram this thing through, acknowledging that indeed, that is exactly what they were doing.
The health care nightmare is not dead, but it is mortally wounded. Democrats have options, such as reconciliation, or even just accepting the senate version without changes. Either way, Obama would sign the bill. But with the defeat of Martha Coakley in a Democratic stronghold like Massachusetts, liberal members of congress are quaking in their boots. The fact is, that not all of them are ideologues. Not all of them have that happy, fluffy socialist agenda shared by the likes of Pelosi and Obama. Many of those clowns are just out for themselves, and if they see a dead end for their careers by voting for an unpopular bill, they may just…look out for themselves. For them, there is a fair possibility that Nancy Pelosi will not be the Speaker of the House after November. Even if she is, whatever political weaponry she wields can’t compare to the damage that could be done at the ballot box. She must realize that, even as puts she her best Botoxed face forward. Then again, maybe not. Maybe she really does believe that the people want this. Hard to fathom though. I think it’s possible that some people want this, those in her immediate universe, and she may be erroneously extrapolating that to the rest of America.
Still, even if she was convinced that nobody wanted this, I don’t think she would care. It’s that kind of arrogance that has helped to fuel the current wave of voter malcontent in this country. She knows better than us, and she knows what we want need. You keep thinking that Nan, because it wouldn’t serve the American people for the socialists in Washington to pretend they have suddenly become moderate, only to revert back to their real selves after November. I don’t think America would fall for that anyway.
You think this article sounded a little convoluted? I attempted to delve into the mind of Nancy Pelosi. A harrowing experience to say the least.

[...] (3) Nancy Pelosi A Clueless Zombie? [...]
Here goes Obama doing what I said he would, back off just a little and trying to get part of his health care passed and hoping to get a few republicans help. Watch him move toward the center to get votes! Obama is sneaky like a snake in the grass and the people better keep their eyes on him because when you can’t see the snake you’re going to get bit!
I can’t trust the rhetoric of Obama or any of these Democrats that suddenly want us to think they’re moderate. I expect some kind of back room trick. We’ll see.
You are correct, Pelosi is clueless AND she doesn’t give a damn what the people want. She is trying to put a good face on the healthcare bill’s fate but iy is in real trouble. While the leadership claims the bill is still alive, those Democrats who will face the voters next are beginning to back away from it. The fight is not over though, we must keep our eyes on them.
“I attempted to delve into the mind of Nancy Pelosi.”
You are brave.
I went in and came out in one piece. What I came away with was that she doesn’t give a damn what the people think, and will decide what we want-or think we need whether we like it or not.
