He’s certifiable all right, but in this case, he’s just trying to stay out of prison.
Rabid anti-American reconquista Nativo Lopez is in trouble with the law again, this time for voter fraud. Apparently, Lopez, a guy who likens himself to Ghandi, was registered to vote in more than one county, and he got caught. With a good 3 years of prison staring him in the face, Lopez has decided to play the nut card and pretend that he’s crazy. He’s fired his lawyer, and in court insists that he isn’t the defendant. Los Angeles Superior Court has ordered an evaluation of Lopez to determine if he’s fit to stand trial.
He’s fit. This is a big act to stay out of jail. He got out of it before, and he’ll try to do it again. He’s the one that registered illegal alien voters in an election that eventually toppled Republican Bob Dornan, and propelled Loretta Sanchez into congress. He was caught then, but somehow-this is California folks-managed to escape charges. Not that it wasn’t known what he did-it was, but he just managed to avoid prison. This time may be a different story unless he can show that he’s a raving loon and isn’t competent to stand trial. If that happens, this guy spends a few months in the looney bin and he’ll be back on the streets.
A little history of what this guy actually does on the street. An open borders advocate, I’ve already detailed how he’s corrupted a national election by helping fellow reconquista Sanchez into congress. He also heads a Mexican government front group, Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, that schools illegal aliens on how to avoid the law and game the system. He was charged with absconding with hundreds of thousands of dollars from that organization, an organization that is federally funded, but the group paid it back, and once again, Lopez was off the hook. Of course, he doesn’t have allies everywhere he goes. In fact, he was recalled from the Santa Ana school board for pushing bi-lingual education, in violation of California law, which is remarkable considering they call the city of Santa Ana, little Tijuana. Yes, he managed to get dumped from that school board. He’s suing to get back on though. He claims the process was unfair because English only petitions for his recall were circulated around Santa Ana. In his eyes, the illegal aliens in the area didn’t understand what they were signing. They understood. You were making trouble, shining the light on them, and they dumped you Nativo. He’s also being sued by a company the contends that he and his minions pressured the company to keep illegal aliens on the payroll. It must have gotten pretty nasty if the company is suing.
Just one of the many reconquista soldiers working hard to destroy the sovereignty of the United States. And I’ve just brushed the surface. You could write a book about this guy. None of it would be good. And believe me, there are many more just like him. He just happens to be well known in the movement. It remains to be seen if the judge buys his crazy act and lets him off the hook this time. He should have been in prison years ago.

Why is this guy allowed a microphone?
He’s backed up by groups such as MALDEF and the National Council of La Raza. in the governments eyes, that legitimizes him. Plenty of people willing to look the other way when you’re pushing their agenda. I should write a post one day about following the rules. Which rules? That’s the key.
You misrepresent the situation. He was NOT charged with being registered to vote in two counties; he in fact had terminated his Orange County voter registration (where he lives) in favor of registering to vote in Los Angeles County, where he works. The charges are being registered to vote at someplace other than his domicile. In the Dornan-Sanchez case, he was accused of registering individuals who had passed the naturalization examination and who had been congratulated on their new citizenship status by INS personnel themselves but prior to their swearing in. Some of those so-called “illegal voters” turned out in fact to be nuns living in a convent. As for the recall petition, the recall was largely funded by out-of-towners who, unlike Nativo’s constituency, had no stake in being provided with entirely legal bilingual education opt-out information, and the most recent court ruling has upheld that the recall petitions in fact violated federal law, namely, the Voting Rights Act.
Which rules indeed. Anti-immigrant activists apparently like to pick and choose as well.
Speaking of picking and choosing, you’re really splitting some hairs there Judy. Must be tough to defend scum like Lopez.
I was at the hearing. He’s crazy like a fox!
There’s crazy and functionally crazy. The latter is much more dangerous.
