Barack Obama is under the mistaken impression that he can either legislate anything he wants, or impose it by fiat. So far there has been nothing that would change that impression.
First it was Wall Street, then it was the banks, then it was the car companies, and now Barack Obama wants to take over the insurance companies, whether there is a health care bill or not. Obama is handing a bill of his own crafting to congress so they can in turn jam it down the throat of America. This bill proposes to set up a commission, an insurance death panel if you will that will decide whether companies will be allowed to raise their rates. The power will be bestowed upon the Health and Human Services Department, currently being run by tax cheat Kathleen Sebelius.
In other words, if Sebelius thinks the premiums are too high for the Marxist thugs she represents, she will not only block those increases, but could theoretically force insurance companies to offer rebates for being too far out of line with the Obama regime rate increase scale.
To justify his takeover of insurance companies, Obama cites a recent rate hike by Anthem Blue Cross of California, that for some comes out to an outrageous 39%. His claim is that this legislation would stop abuse of this sort and all would be rosy. Unfortunately for Obama, the example he cites is the product of insurance companies not being able to cross state lines to sell insurance. In a case like this, customers could just go to another insurance company if their current insurance rates were too high. That can’t happen now. The people of California have some options as far as insurance carriers go, but not enough to force down a sky-high rate increase like this. There just isn’t enough competition. In addition, insurance companies, already highly regulated, face even more regulations in socialist California. That makes their operating costs higher, and therefore the premiums will be higher. And as the citizens with means leave the state and the poor and outright indigent fill the void, those operating costs become even more extreme. I don’t know what Anthem is using for an excuse to raise their rates like that, but the fact is, with competition, that kind of increase just wouldn’t be possible. Under the Obama plan, these companies would have to live with whatever rate increase is deemed to be justified. And how would they determine that? Yes, they would have to open the books of private companies, and then decide what, if any increases were due. That sounds like an outright takeover of the insurance industry. This comes on the heels of the revelation that Obama already has reconciliation language written in order to jam Obamacare down our throats. All this in advance of the allegedly bi-partisan debate health care dog and pony show slated to take place Thursday. Many Republicans are already balking at the summit, because they know it’s all for show and Obama is going to push his agenda no matter what. Here is yet more evidence of that. Do you think he debated this with Republicans? Do you think he debated with anybody? He’s just pretending to be bipartisan while continuing to push the same agenda he’s had since he took office. He could care less what the Republicans want, and he could care less what Americans want.
We don’t want Obamacare. That’s very clear, but Obama continues to push it while letting us Americans know under no uncertain terms that if we weren’t so ignorant we would see what a great plan it really is. I think he used the terms false information and misconstrued. Yes, we not only have false information, but even when we have the right info, we’re just too stupid to disseminate.

Someone else said that POTUS wants to us to be “herded” not “heard.” I think it is very true.
The socialist POTUS doesn’t give a damn about the individual. Why not allow us to purchase insurance across state lines? Why not torte reform? He isn’t going to twist the insurance company’s snarklies. It’s all show. I believe that they (insurance companies) own him.
He’s the KIA commercial sock monkey, “How’d you like me now?” Always making nice and impressing everyone for the vote of the moment.
(The sock monkey analogy is not meant to be racist. I feel compelled to stipulate that now that everything anti POTUS is considered racist.)

Do you believe that his restrictions will do anything for the US citizen other than ruin their health by stressing them to the max?

Don’t worry about the sock monkey comment. Consider this blog a safe haven from political correctness.
As far as the insurance companies, I think you’re right about him being owned by them. To an extent. I think-like the banks, he will takeover some and crush others. Lots of SEIU benefits on the way if he can takeover the insurance industry.
Just when you think it is dead, Obama brings it back bigger and worse than ever. This man simply does not care what the American people want, he is out to grab as much power as possible and this is his next step.
“Lots of SEIU benefits on the way if he can takeover the insurance industry.
I am sure of this. That once a week meeting between the WH and SEIU must be getting very interesting.
All of this before the alleged bipartisan health care summit Mr. Pink Eyes. Anybody who can’t see through that isn’t looking.
