Bumbling Republicans Stumble Towards November

Just because the Democrats will be feeling some serious pain in November doesn’t mean America is out out the woods. We still have to deal with the Republicans. There was a reason the Republicans have been so unpopular the last several years (Bush was but one of reasons), and here is yet another example of a losing strategy.

The elections coming in November could see a swing to the right in the state of Illinois, the home turf of one the most brazen Marxists ever to be escorted up the political ladder. Barack Obama’s former seat will be up for grabs, and the guy who bought that seat, Roland Burris has indicated that he won’t even waste his time running again. The door is wide open to deliver a blow to Karl Marx if only the GOP can pull their head out of their ass long enough to make it happen.

They couldn’t do it in New York, where conservative Doug Hoffman was not only ostracized by the GOP elites but was actually undermined when the establishment-the same establishment that was voted out of power in disgrace, supported Dede Scozzafava, who we now know is a raging Democrat. GOP luminaries such as Newt Gingrich, in his support for RINO Scozzafava went so far as to say that the tea party movement could destroy the GOP. You could laugh off the ramblings of this has-been, but he’s actually hinted at a run in 2012. That’s right, the guy who couldn’t keep his pants on any more than Mark Sanford could (yet another GOP 2012 prospect) may actually run for the presidency in 2012. Do you want Obama for another 4 years?

The GOP is at it again, this time in Illinois, where the door is open for the Republicans. They’re doing everything they can to slam it shut again. In the 8th congressional district Republican primary last month, Joe Walsh, a candidate not unlike Scott Brown of Massachusetts won the primary defeating the candidates that the Republican National Committee were promoting. And, like Scott Brown, Walsh is getting no support from the GOP. No, they wanted their candidates (a few which I have already described), and when they couldn’t get it, they decided to move on. Walsh is on his own in his quest to unseat 3-time Democrat Melissa Bean. Brown was on his own and he made not only the socialist Dems look like fools, but the Republican establishment as well. Now it’s Walsh’s turn, and the dirt flinging has started already. Remember, like Scott Brown, Walsh has two parties that want to see him fail; the opposition Dems, and the indignant Republicans, who Walsh dared to not only take on, but defeated.

Who threw the story out there is unknown but the timing is strange, seeing as apparently nobody knew about this until after the primary was a done deal. It seems that Walsh lost his condo to foreclosure last year. Yeah, so did millions of others. All of a sudden this has become a story. They say that Walsh should have made this public. Not sure what the controversy is. Is anyone suggesting that Walsh allowed himself to be foreclosed on purpose? The man lost his home. All the more reason to elect him, because the ones who are there now aren’t doing a damn thing about the housing crisis. Let me rephrase that: they aren’t doing anything constructive about it. We all know what they did to help it along. Google Democrats and Fannie Mae and see what you come up with. Google Rahm Emanuel and Freddie Mac and take a look. Hell, search rjjrdq 1 & 2 and find that stuff.

If we put our eggs in the proverbial GOP basket we may be looking at more years of lost opportunities and blundering politicians. Yes, they are the lesser of two evils, but why settle for that? You know, Newt may have been right. The tea party movement just might destroy the GOP, and I think long term that could be a good thing.
