The troubling part here is that there is probably more Republican support for this and for cap and trade than there was for healthcare. As you said, it only takes a couple of them to flip on this issue. The wildcared here will be John McCain; we all know his stance on this issue but it is an election year and he has a serious primary opponent. He either will not dare to vote for this or he will say what the hell, I am losing anyway I might as well vote for it. It will be interesting to watch him. I had a feeling that this would happen.
