As far as the Obama regime is concerned, you’ll get amnesty, and you’ll like it. Like a brutal guard in a Russian gulag, the feds are torturing the great state of Arizona to show the other 49 states what could happen to them for daring to fight illegal immigration.
With an activist judge legislating from the bench and putting S.B. 1070 on life support, to the State Department submitting the issue to the U.N. for approval by the worst violators of human rights on the planet, to suing a school district for making it difficult for illegal aliens to land jobs, it would seem like Arizona would have taken enough of a beating from Obama and his goons. But they aren’t done with Arizona. Now they have set their guns on Sheriff Joe Arpaio, maybe the most effective sheriff in the country at combating the flood of illegal aliens. Arpaio’s of behavior doesn’t fit in the the Obama agenda, and as a result, yet another lawsuit that stands to further inflict pain on Arizona has commenced.
This time, the feds are suing Joe Arpaio for not turning over documents which they claim may show discrimination on the part of Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriffs Department when arresting those supected of being illegal aliens. The problem is that they haven’t actually defined what documents they want. They sued anyway.
“They have hundreds of thousands of reports, hundreds of thousands,” Arpaio said. “They’re so broad, we’re trying to narrow it down. We’re trying to work with them.”
So the lawsuit is suing for access to anything they want, whenever they want, whatever that is. After the S.B. 1070 fiasco, they just may get that kind of access.
The feds are still angry that Arpaio still continues immigration sweeps, even after he was stripped of federal authority to do so. He continues under current Arizona law, separate from S.B. 1070. This isn’t the only federal attack on Arpaio either. In addition to stripping federal immigration authority, he has a separate abuse of authority case pending. Hispanic ethno-hate groups are after Arpaio as well, and some are suggesting jail as a way to bring him to his knees.
The contempt for the rule of law, and the will of the American people for that matter is indicative of the Obama agenda. November can’t get here fast enough, but that won’t change these kinds of attacks on states. A very effective way to silence an opponent is to sue them. The ACLU uses this tactic all the time. Not that they have any standing in most of their suits, but with activist judges and the cost of fighting a lawsuit, for many, it just isn’t worth the fight. Arizona, and Maricopa County so far have the resources to battle the Obama regime, but those are resources that take away from law enforcement. Obama and his goons could care less though. Defying the rule of law is the reasoning behind the lawsuits. Obama is playing like this some kind of board game. The destruction of a continent and reshaping it into some kind of socialist utopia will not only fail, but leave a trail of destruction that will be difficult, if not impossible to recover from. But Obama will be long gone by then, and the blame can be placed safely on someone else.
