Nukes in Venezuela?

There will be if Russia gets their way, and global citizen Obama is ignoring what is happening in our own back yard.

Russia cut a deal with Venezuela to help it build a nuclear power plant. Remember, it was Russia that also assisted Iran in building their nuclear facilities. We see how that turned out. Now they are imparting nuclear technology to tinpot dictator Hugo Chavez. They will also sell Chavez tanks and invest in Venezuela’s state run oil industry.

The tanks will not be aimed at Chavez’ perceived aggression from the United States. Those are to solidify his grip around the neck of Venezuelans and to flex some muscle at neighboring countries. Chavez is a regional power. The nuclear power plant on the other hand looks to be an expansion of Russian influence in the Western hemisphere. At the same time, you have to wonder what Chavez himself would do with the nuclear technology. Iran is making a bomb. Now we have two countries that hate the United States and would like nothing more than to see it fall. This was made very clear at the get America rally held at the Kremlin.

Chavez presided over the deals at a Kremlin ceremony with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who said the two countries shared a “strategic partnership” and a vision of a world free of overwhelming U.S. influence.

If they are allegedly building a nuclear power plant for peaceful energy purposes, like Iran supposedly is, then why the sharp rhetoric?

Because this isn’t about peaceful energy at all. This is about taking advantage of a weak America. With two ongoing wars, a weak economy, high unemployment, massive debt, and a president who is more concerned with bankrolling a socialist agenda around the world than keeping America strong, Russia sees its chance to strike, and they can be pretty confident that the United States has neither the will or the resorces to do anything about it. The key is Barack Obama. As bad as George Bush was, as bad as John McCain would have been, do you think that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chavez would be pulling this stunt on their watch? What will Obama do now? With countries like North Korea already waving nukes at the international community, Iran gearing up for a nuclear attack on Israel, Pakistan not sure if they can keep their program secure, and now Hugo Chavez potentially having his hands on nukes, how stable do you think the world is going to be?

There was a time when dictators in the Western hemisphere like Hugo Chavez were not long for the game. The CIA just wasn’t going to have any of it. But political correctness has taken over even on an international scale, and now the possibility that nuclear warheads will be within striking distance of America’s largest cities is the result. So far, not a word from Obama. Keep in mind though that it was Obama himself that said no country was above another and that America should take its appropriate role in the global community. Yes, with a little help from his friends.

    Bill,

I think this was some big news that the media has kept a little to quite. What will our fearless leader do? I bet, nothing! We could be in a bigger mess. I did not think that was possible. Boy was I wrong.

I don’t think he’ll do anything either. I don’t think Obama has a problem with Chavez.
