Napolitano Stalling on Document Requests

Darrell Issa is a busy man. If Janet Napolitano wasn’t on his shit list before, she/he/it [insert opinion here] certainly is now. For the Alinskyites that think my incivility will spur Nappy to grab her Glock and bring us another Tucson-stay home and lock your door then.

If you recall, a few weeks ago word got out that the Department of Homeland Security was giving extra scrutiny to some freedom of information requests. The information in question is allegedly free to request, as the name would suggest. Napolitano and her gang-who I’ve talked about before, seems to think that some information is freer than others, and Issa wants to know why. The head of the Government Oversight Committee has requested demanded documents from the DHS in regards to why they sidetracked some of the requests.

Nappy already missed one deadline to deliver the documents, and now we find out that she has missed a second deadline. Not sure what the ramifications of that are, but I’m sure Issa does. What is Napolitano hiding? Certainly there is something being hidden, or turning over the documents would be little more than a few minutes out of some underling’s day. It could be that Issa has a mole in the DHS, already has the documents he’s requesting from Napolitano, and is just waiting to see what she gives him. Apparently, that is the case.

Issa “obtained documents from an unnamed career employee that called into question statements made at the September briefing” by DHS Chief Privacy Officer Mary Ellen Callahan, a committee spokesman said.

At that September briefing, a DHS hack assured the world that they weren’t doing anything illegal. Issa isn’t so sure, and neither are the rest of us. Now it appears that something is about to hit the fan, and the DHS is in damage control mode. Their problem is, they don’t know what Issa already has in his possession.

When whatever these documents are become public, they may shed light on what the DHS is really doing. We already know that homeland security is not one of those things. We know that they have a report that targets American citizens from virtually every walk of life and classifies us as potential terrorists. We know that Napolitano briefs the very Islamo-Nazis that would destroy this country and impose a sharia nightmare on us on sensitive national security matters. We know that the borders are purposely insecure, and ICE agents are hamstrung trying to do their job. We know that there is no plan in place to scrutinize ID and other documentation for those entering this country. We know that Americans are being groped at airports, even as foreigners are able to enroll in a program that will allow them to bypass that process. But American citizens, that’s something else.

Issa wants to know what that something else is, and Napolitano is stalling. She can’t stall forever though. She could potentially be jailed for defying the will of congress. Almost makes you want to see her continue to stall. Either way, she appears to be in big trouble. If illegalities are ultimately found, she may lose her job. The documents may even go beyond the DHS. We don’t know-yet, however, Darrell Issa may already know, and has Nappy in a corner.

She’s given Issa the finger twice now. It seems to me that Darrell Issa is not the kind of guy that will let that go. So far, this congress is looking a hell of lot better than the last one.
