Republicans are not reformed. Case in point, the legislators in Utah, who have passed a guest worker program for illegal aliens. The bill also allegedly allows law enforcement to crack down on illegal aliens at the same time. Nothing could be further from the truth. Although the Obama regime maintains that immigration is a federal issue, they have yet to say anything about this bill. Go figure.
Utah lawmakers have passed an immigration bill that not only allows illegal immigrants to get work permits in that state, but would have law enforcement check the immigration status of anyone stopped for a felony or serious misdemeanor. You are correct, when anyone is arrested for these types of crimes, the first thing law enforcement will do is verify the identity of the individual. If it turns out they are illegal, the law requires that they be turned over to ICE. In other words, that law is already on the books. What it has the effect of doing is having law enforcement not check the immigration status of those deemed to have committed lesser crimes. This is amnesty by any other name.
Republicans in Utah are going to try and hide behind the amnesty bill, touting the tough law enforcement measures. As I’ve just outlined, those are laws already on the books, and this law just watered them down. It is an insult to Arizona and SB 1070, which the Obama regime went after like a mad dog. They aren’t touching this law so far. That should say it all. Any law that promotes more illegal immigration and facilitates open borders is ignored, while any kind of law enforcement is met with lawsuits by the Justice Department.
Apparently, this thing does need federal approval. It is a “guest worker” program, and under the Obama philosophy falls under their jurisdiction. What are the odds they get that approval? This is what happens when we let Republicans go and do what they see fit. At a certain point, there won’t be enough votes to throw these bums out. That is already the case in many communities-and some states even. Shame on the Republicans in Utah, and shame on the Republicans in Washington who aren’t even talking about this. They’re too busy talking about cutting pennies from the budget. The GAO spelled that out already. Done deal. Let’s get to the next issue, and that issue is immigration. King has the Islam thing covered, Issa is cracking down on the corruption-let’s get to the immigration issue before it’s too late. As I said, it already is too late for parts of the country.
Citizens of Utah, there’s a little tool called a recall if you’re elected representatives refuse to represent you. I suggest you use that tool if those clowns can’t be controlled. Legalizing border crossers in Utah gives them free reign in all 50 states. That bill has been inflicted on all of us. Wake up Utah, you’ve got work to do.
I guess we will soon see road signs saying “Whatever-Town, We also speak English.”

So, Utah passes an immigration law and Republicans are claiming victory because this law cracks down on illegal immigration, yet these laws were already on the books so the only change is the fact that illegals can now get work permits. This is a victory for Republicans? It seems to me as if the Utah immigration laws just got watered down, I guess “victory” isn’t what it once was.

Not enough people making noise. They’ve put it on the back burner, thinking defeating the DREAM Act was good enough. It isn’t.

This bill is insulting the intelligence of the voters. I guess they figure if they can get enough votes from illegal aliens, they won’t need us.

I am impatiently waiting to find out if you have passed HB 116. As soon as you do I will write in N.J. editorials and commentaries, even pay for billboards to let all the New Jersey Illegals and their anchor babies know that UTAH WANTS THEM. If they leave N.J. and head for Utah our classrooms will be smaller (we can then provide OUR CHILDREN with quality education). Our welfare and food stamps costs will go down. Our crime rate will go down. Emergency rooms at hospitals might open back up to serve American citizens because they no longer will be bankrupt by illegals. Our prisons probably will empty out a bit because when they are released they will head for Utah. New Jersey has approx. 500,000 illegals stealing benefits and jobs from Americans. New Jersey resident taxpayers will be more than happy to send them your way. We will even pay for travelling expenses for them. I’m sure every state will do the same. Keep up the good work. Good work for the illegals and the rest of the nation. Devastation for Utah.
I am not for illegal immigration,if an American breaks the law, they go to jail. If an illegal breaks our law they get on our welfare program. LDS leaders, what is wrong with you… I thought Jesus the Christ was at the head of this church, but, apparently not, only man. When Christ stops talking to the prophet, then it is time to walk away, do not try to lead the church astray.
All over the country you see the same thing, do you believe either side is willing to stop it? It would be political suicide. Look around small businesses like landscapers home builders who do you think they use? Of course they would probably go out of business paying an American. It seems we have an economic quandary. What would Ronald Reagan do? I know he`d make them all legal and then close the border.
