Libyan “Rebels” May Be al-Qaida

Barack Obama’s strategy in Libya is so convoluted, so bumbling, that even kooks like Dennis Kucinich are balking, even going so far as to suggest impeachment. Obama decided not to consult congress before making a fool of himself, and the result is that he may have made a fool of all of us. I’ve postulated in the last few days that we didn’t know who these rebels were, and they could be al-Qaida for all we know. Well, well, well…

Jon Lee Anderson, staff writer for The New Yorker, and on the ground in Libya told CNN’s Elliot Spitzer (yes, the same) that the rebel force numbers no more than 1000, and those that can actually fight probably numbers in the low hundreds. Yes, cruise missiles, American fighter jets, UN rule 43, NATO, no-fly zones-all of that for a number at no more than 1000. Were you aware of that? I did not know that. But it gets better though.

NATO Supreme Commander Admiral James Stavridis said that there were flickers of al-Qaida in the rebel ranks. Noman Benotman, al-Qaida affiliate in Libya (although he claims to have renounced them) went even further, saying that there were 1000 jihadists fighting in Libya, including members of al-Qaida and Hezbollah. Let’s do the math. Anderson says that there are no more than 1000 rebels in the fight. Benotman says that there are 1000 jihadists there right now. If these numbers are accurate, then the entire rebel force is made up of al-Qaida and Hezbollah jihadists. Yet we have a no-fly zone to protect them while they attempt to take control of a country that exports a significant amount of oil to Europe. You can’t make this up. But wait…it gets even better.

Now NATO-yes, the same NATO that concedes flickers of al-Qaida in Libya, is warning the rebels not to attack civilians or else. That’s right, NATO is warning the rebels not to engage in the same kind of behavior that provoked military intervention in the first place. You can’t make this up.

Barack Obama has a litany of impeachable offenses to his credit, and if this doesn’t qualify as one of them, then there are no impeachable offenses. The idea of Obama sending the American military into harms way to provide cover for the likes of al-Qaida and Hezbollah, for me, qualifies as a war crime. Why would the rebels have been warned-unless something already happened that isn’t being reported? And the best part of all, we get to pay for the whole thing.

I never thought I would be on the same page as Dennis Kucinich, but this is obscene. Now, Michelle, not 2008. Now you say how ashamed you are of this country. How could this cartoon have been elected as president? Barack Obama has made the United States look like a Baby Huey, dumb as a board, but able to do damage if you get in the way. I didn’t have this info before. I have it now. Get out of Libya now. Let Gadhafi crush these clowns. Right now, today. Where are you Boehner? Where are you tea party Republicans? Where are you presidential hopefuls? Right now. Today.
