Try and fathom the logic here. Obamacare isn’t being opposed because it’s too horrible, but because it’s not horrible enough. How can this thing be any worse than it already is? Ask the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

The CHC, an ethno-centric congressional cabal, is by, for, and about latinos, and latinos only. Some of their members have a problem with Obamacare. No not the obvious problems. Not the cost, the takeover of a huge chunk of the American economy, not the death panels (any bureaucrat that is deciding whether you are worthy of care is a death panel), not the risk of incarceration for not having insurance, not abortion funding that apparently is staying in the legislation, but for a reason that is just as insidious as all those other reasons. They have a problem because the bill doesn’t specifically cover illegal aliens. You heard that right. Luis Gutierrez, the whacko that came up with H.R. 4321 wants to add language to the bill that will cover illegal aliens. Well, his bill would do just that. But they wouldn’t be illegal anymore. The fact that there are absolutely no provisions that would stop illegal aliens from fraudulently obtaining government subsidized health care (read: American taxpayers), is not good enough for Gutierrez and his racist thugs. He sees too many issues with the bill, all related to illegal aliens.

“They are enough to say I can’t support this bill,” Gutierrez said during an appearance on MSNBC.

The fact that the CHC does not support this bill is good news, although in the end they may vote for it anyway. That would be a break from their ongoing stance that Hispanics act, think, and vote as a mob. That has proven to be untrue, but for these clowns, their political power is raced based, and as long as they can convince the country that Hispanics are single issue dolts they will retain that power. This could also mean other good news. If Gutierrez is upset that there are no specific goodies for illegal aliens, he must not have confidence in the prospect for immigration reform. Given the popularity of Obamacare, I would say that was an accurate assessment.

It appears that Nancy Pelosi does not have the votes to ram this thing through, and it looks like they will try an illegal up or down vote in the house. They will do an illegal reconciliation maneuver in the senate. Yes, it is illegal, since reconciliation is only be used for budget issues. That would be quite a stretch to include Obamacare as part of a budget issue. However, if the country were to descend into a single payer disaster that would be different. We haven’t gotten there yet. I never thought I would be rooting for the congressional Hispanic caucus, but in this case, they have it right-for all the wrong reasons.

Now we see why Barack Obama wants a straight up or down vote for his health care takeover plan. He just doesn’t have the support to do it the right way.

Ignoring the American people, ignoring Republicans-and the Americans voters they represent, ignoring anybody and anything that stand in the way of his 21st century Bolshevik revolution, Barack Obama has indicated that he wants a straight up or down vote for his health care plan. That would be great for him, since Democrat socialists hold majorities in both the house and senate. That isn’t the way this republic works though, no matter how hard Obama tries to change that. If he tries to do it the right way, the way where representatives of the American people-even if they are in the majority, can have a voice, this thing dies on the vine.

Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) has indicated that he and 11 other Democrats will not support the senate version of the health care bill, namely because the provisions for funding abortion are too weak. He wants guarantees that abortion will not be funded or he and his pals will withdraw their support. Once you add the number of Dems that have retired, the ones who are on the proverbial chopping block in November, and the ones who have just had a change of heart, Nancy Pelosi will have a difficult task ahead of her to secure another 216 votes for a senate bill that many Dems are unhappy with.

Abortion is but one issue of contention. Rumors floating around Capitol Hill are that as many as 20 Democrats are ready to bill this bill to rest. We know that the senate will use reconciliation to get it through, so the real test is in the house, and Stupak has basically confirmed what Paul Ryan said a few days ago: they don’t have the votes.

That isn’t to say that they can’t get the votes. We know that the White House is busy buying votes, and with backroom deals already part of the package, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a few more. But how many more deals could they make? 12-20 nays is quite a mountain to climb. Sure, they could change the language of the bill to make Stupak happy, but at the same time it would anger other Democrats. Pelosi is now stuck between a rock and a few hard places. She can’t make her own party happy, she has no Republican support, nor does she have the support of the American people. The only one on her side here is Barack Obama, and I don’t think that they are actually friends. They’re just both doing their duty for the love of Karl.

Well, they can drag this thing out for months more, but at the same time, it will slow down the rest of the Obama nightmare train of legislation. It will have no effect on the behind the scenes maniacy that is disembowling this country from the inside out. Another post. Previous posts. Future posts. On the legislative front though the traitors that have oozed into Washington are finding out that is isn’t that easy to blatantly ignore the will of the people. An aspect of this whole process that just doesn’t get enough attention. These people are ignoring us. Yes, they hear us, they know what we want, but instead of really being representative they label us as tea baggers Nazis, astroturf, un-American, and the list goes on. I’ve said it before, the old tactic of accusing somebody else of what you are, and then watching them scramble to defend themselves, effectively cutting off real debate. That didn’t happen this time. A big thanks to Barry, Harry and Nan. Without you three stooges, America might still be asleep at the switch. We’re wide awake now.

They shot the bull for 7 hours, absolutely nothing was accomplished, and the Democrats are going ahead with their plan without the GOP…or the American people.

Everyone knew this would be a circus and it did not disappoint. If anyone still doesn’t have a clue about what the Democrats are offering, you can find it just about anywhere on the web. The Republicans have their own plan, but you would never know by listening to the media. None of that matters though. After all the arguing, the posturing, the exchange of ideas (as disingenuous as it was), in the end the Democrats are going it alone. If you remember, it was Barack Obama himself that said (aiming at Republicans), get out of the way.

And if they don’t get out of the way, he’ll just push them out of the way. Obama’s comments show clearly what his intentions are, and that this whole thing was theater as it was planned to be.

We cannot have another yearlong debate about this,” Obama declared. “I’m not sure we can bridge the gap.”

That means reconciliation. Having reconciliation language written even before this summit pretty much summed up how much Obama wanted to hear any other ideas. This whole charade was basically a question to Republicans: Are you going to follow me like a puppy dog, or not? Well, they aren’t going to follow him, and if the polls are any indicator, the American people aren’t following him either.

The good news is that there are Democrats that have soured on this plan, and the senate version of obamacare may not even pass the house. If it does, there are certain be legal challenges, and hopefully tie this thing up for years.

I actually had to work today and get something accomplished, at a job where I choose to have insurance, but have been blessed enough not to have to use it. I’m just the kind of guy the insurance companies love. But I don’t need to be threatened with incarceration if I should decide to drop that insurance. As it stands now, those that need that insurance are able to use it-on my dime. And that’s ok, because if I need it one day it’ll be there. If obamacare passes we can just look at the Brits or up North in Canada to see what kind of insurance will be available. And let’s face it, the cost of that insurance will go up. There is just no way to slash costs and add 30 million people and not have insurance costs go up. If Obama’s scheme to regulate premium increases comes to fruition, then we will just be one step closer to a single-payer system, as insurance companies go under, unable to cover their costs.

Just part of Obama’s agenda, and he doesn’t care what you think.

Barack Obama is under the mistaken impression that he can either legislate anything he wants, or impose it by fiat. So far there has been nothing that would change that impression.

First it was Wall Street, then it was the banks, then it was the car companies, and now Barack Obama wants to take over the insurance companies, whether there is a health care bill or not. Obama is handing <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601202&sid=aHd3IkEmIyQ0" target_"blank">a bill of his own crafting to congress so they can in turn jam it down the throat of America. This bill proposes to set up a commission, an insurance death panel if you will that will decide whether companies will be allowed to raise their rates. The power will be bestowed upon the Health and Human Services Department, currently being run by tax cheat Kathleen Sebelius.

In other words, if Sebelius thinks the premiums are too high for the Marxist thugs she represents, she will not only block those increases, but could theoretically force insurance companies to offer rebates for being too far out of line with the Obama regime rate increase scale.

To justify his takeover of insurance companies, Obama cites a recent rate hike by Anthem Blue Cross of California, that for some comes out to an outrageous 39%. His claim is that this legislation would stop abuse of this sort and all would be rosy. Unfortunately for Obama, the example he cites is the product of insurance companies not being able to cross state lines to sell insurance. In a case like this, customers could just go to another insurance company if their current insurance rates were too high. That can’t happen now. The people of California have some options as far as insurance carriers go, but not enough to force down a sky-high rate increase like this. There just isn’t enough competition. In addition, insurance companies, already highly regulated, face even more regulations in socialist California. That makes their operating costs higher, and therefore the premiums will be higher. And as the citizens with means leave the state and the poor and outright indigent fill the void, those operating costs become even more extreme. I don’t know what Anthem is using for an excuse to raise their rates like that, but the fact is, with competition, that kind of increase just wouldn’t be possible. Under the Obama plan, these companies would have to live with whatever rate increase is deemed to be justified. And how would they determine that? Yes, they would have to open the books of private companies, and then decide what, if any increases were due. That sounds like an outright takeover of the insurance industry. This comes on the heels of the revelation that Obama already has reconciliation language written in order to jam Obamacare down our throats. All this in advance of the allegedly bi-partisan <del datetime="2010-02-23T04:55:37+00:00">debate</del> health care dog and pony show slated to take place Thursday. Many Republicans are already balking at the summit, because they know it’s all for show and Obama is going to push his agenda no matter what. Here is yet more evidence of that. Do you think he debated this with Republicans? Do you think he debated with anybody? He’s just pretending to be bipartisan while continuing to push the same agenda he’s had since he took office. He could care less what the Republicans want, and he could care less what Americans want.

We don’t want Obamacare. That’s very clear, but Obama continues to push it while letting us Americans know under no uncertain terms that if we weren’t so ignorant we would see what a great plan it really is. I think he used the terms false information and misconstrued. Yes, we not only have false information, but even when we have the right info, we’re just too stupid to disseminate.

And your friends at Wal-Mart are more than happy to sell it to you.

The flood of poisonous, unsafe, and otherwise dangerous products coming from China is becoming the stuff of legends, but American companies that just can’t see past making a quick buck continue to outsource the manufacturing of their products, knowing full well what the quality of the final product is likely to be. Only days after the chief of the Consumer Products Safety Commission warned parents to take cheap metal jewelry away from their children, we find out that the garbage that isn’t so cheap is tainted as well.

Remember the uproar because high levels of lead were found in toys coming from China? You can be sure that the lead is still there, but now a new, just as dangerous ingredient is being added as well. Cadmium, a toxic metal that will cause brain damage in children just like lead will, has been found in the cheap metal jewelry that you can find in made in China stores such as Wal-Mart. Some of these toys are toxic to the tune of 90+ percent cadmium. Brain damaging and cancer causing, the CPSC has recommended that parents take this crap away from their children, but as far as I can tell, having retailers pull it from their shelves is optional. The next time you go into one of those dollar stores, and your kid wants one of those cheap pieces…remember this article.

Now Disney has gotten into the act-with the double-barrel help of China and Wal-Mart and are pulling their Chinese made garbage, a pendant that was part of the Princess and the Frog marketing blitz. The CPSC found it to have high levels of cadmium, and although Disney is now feigning outrage at the quality of the product, the fact is that this has been on store shelves since November, and Disney did nothing. What the hell did they expect from China? With the history of poisonous product coming from China, especially with regards to children’s toys, you would think that Disney would take the high road and have those things manufactured somewhere where quality controls were tighter, like the United States. But it’s so much cheaper to have it done in China, that as far as Disney is concerned, you kid can just die if it means more profit for them. Ditto for Wal-Mart.

Most of this crap comes from China, and most of it is sold at Wal-Mart. So the next time you get glassy eyed while going by your local Wal-Mart, keep in mind that it’s probably the toxins emanating from the store that is causing that reaction. If you insist on contiuing on buying that garbage and supporting the physical destruction of the American population, well, it might all work out for you. After all, if Obamacare passes, you can’t be denied for a pre-existing condition. Keep buying toys from Wal-Mart and your child will be able to take advantage of that mandate.

But if you want the real thing you can go down to your local market and buy as much as you want.

At least Arnold Schwarzenegger is good for something. He has time and again refused to sign a bill that would grant drivers licenses to illegal aliens, and he has once again shown a shred of common sense by refusing to sign SB400, a bill that would have banned the sales of electronic cigarettes in California. For those not familiar with e-cigarettes, they’re basically a nicotine delivery device. Most are manufactured to look like a conventional cigarette, but that’s where the similarity ends.

The typical e-cig consists of a battery (shaped to look like the tobacco containing section of a cigarette), a filter which contains the nicotine, and an atomizer inside, that vaporizes the nicotine when heated. The heat is generated by puffing. The result is a fairly realistic smoking experience. The difference is that the smoke is not smoke at all; it’s water vapor that carries the nicotine to its destination. I have one myself, and although not the real thing, a heck of an alternative, especially for those that are trying to quit (such as myself). You get the nicotine, the sensation of smoking, and maybe just as importantly, you engage in the physical act of smoking. The fact is, that the average smoker may take 100-200 puffs a day off a cigarette. Hand to mouth, hand to mouth. Gums and patches do not address this habit that in most cases has been going on for years. E-cigarettes addresses this very effectively. Great idea, right? A breakthrough in smoking technology, wouldn’t you agree?

Not the California legislature. They want to ban this new technology, and wipe it out while still in its infancy. Now the word is that California Attorney General Gerry Moonbeam Brown is going fangs out after e-cigarette manufacturers and attempting to force them to prove that the devices are safe before they can sell them in California. You heard that right, while real cigarettes continue to be sold at every corner store in the state, Moonbeam is trying to break the back of what consists of mostly small companies trying to get a foothold in the smoking game. Entrepeneurship at its best, and California once again is looking to stifle it. This is the last thing that California government, or any government for that matter wants. The tax revenue from tobacco is tremendous, and if they should lose that, all of us (and that includes non-smokers) would feel the pain. If that tax revenue dried up, they would come after everyone to make up the difference. All they would get with e-cigs is sales tax. If the devices weren’t manufactured in California, they might not even get that. This would be a fiscal disaster for California to see these things take off. It wouldn’t have to be, but with the corruption and ineptitude in government, they would make it a crisis. They need this gravy train to continue.

Hey, if they want to regulate these things, then fine. In fact, I would rather they did regulate them just to make sure that nicotine cartridges that come from places such as China are safe. I’m all for it. They don’t want to regulate though. They want it to disappear. It has nothing to do with safety. It has to do with money.

Just a disclaimer. This is not a sales pitch. I only linked to an e-cig website because that’s where I found the picture. I don’t know who that company is or how good their product is. I have some other brand. FYI.

Now we will see if the GOP will get behind this and stand with the majority of Americans, or roll over once again.

It looks like the the fraud health care bill may pass the senate without Harry Reid having to invoke the procedural reconciliation, but even if it does pass, legal challenges await. After Joe Lieberman caved, which was somewhat of a surprise considering that to this day, Democrats are out to get him, the last holdout was Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska). Reid bribed him with a tweaking of abortion language that leaves a huge loophole, but would allow Nelson to go back to Nebraska and claim he got a concession. He got a concession all right. The state of Nebraska will be exempt from the states share of Medicaid payments forever. That’s right, Nebraska will never have to pay what the rest of the states will be slammmed with. And folks, there is only one place to get that money; right out of your hide. They’ll have no choice. But what does Harry Reid care? He’ll be dead in 10 years, and it will be your problem. <del datetime="2009-12-19T22:07:26+00:00">If</del> when this piece of Marxism is rammed through, lawyers involved with the tea party movement vow to fight it in court. You laugh? According to Rasmussen, the Tea Party movement is more popular than Republicans among Republicans, and more popular than Republicans or Democrats among independents. Don’t laugh. They will probably need funding to help with the fight. No lawyer is cheap and I suspect these guys wouldn’t be either. That’s where the GOP comes in. In lieu of their failure to threaten legal action on constitutional grounds, they could redeem themeselves by supporting this. Are you listening Michael Steele? Or are you still wondering what happened in NY-23?

This mandate is unconstitutional, and barring running into hack activist judges (a very real possibility), this thing in theory should be gutted. We can’t depend on that though. The Tea Party lawyers will have to throw the kitchen sink at this one, and I’m sure they will, with or without GOP backing.

The house and the senate will still have to reconcile the two bills, so there is still a chance that this thing will fail in the end, but don’t count on it. These patriots are looking ahead and preparing for the worst.

Apparently, Obamacares sucks so badly, they can’t even fake it now. But then, this isn’t about health care reform, it’s about Cloward-Piven. Look it up.

With a growing majority of Americans opposing the disastrous health care reform that is oozing its way through congress, Harry Reid and his band of idiots are still trying to push what the government now admits is a failed plan. According to the head actuary at the Department of Health and Human Services, under Obamacare (for lack of a worse name) health care costs would rise more than if there was no reform at all. In addition, even after 10 years, there would still be 24 million people uninsured.

Not only that, the Dems have inserted the Class Act into the bill, a Ted Kennedy fiasco that would provide benefits for those that could not perform such simple daily tasks as bathing or feeding themselves. The average buy in would be around $65 per month. The sicker folks that opt-in would eventually be using approximately $75 per day in services. You don’t need to a math major to see what will happen there. The HHS didn’t mince words either.

According to HHS, because “individuals with health problems or who anticipate a greater risk of functional limitation would be more likely to participate than those in better-than-average health,” premiums would rise and rise, causing an “insurance death spiral” and making the program “unsustainable.”

When even the government refers to this thing as a death spiral, you know it’s bad news. $2.5 trillion, and the costs rise from there. This is Obama’s idea. I say again, Cloward-Piven. This is all about destroying the system, and I guess it depends what your ideology is as to whether you would consider it reform. You can tell this is all about ideology because they are not listening to the American people. All the protests, all the glaring poll numbers opposing this beast mean nothing to the socialists in Washington. They are going to ram this thing through no matter what we think. If they don’t have votes in the senate, you know what Harry Reid is going to do. He’s going for the reconciliation that will only require 50 votes. Not sure why that option even exists. Then again, there may be some consciences in Washington and the specter of this thing being torn apart piece by piece after 2010 even if it does pass. There may be those that feel it isn’t worth passing. It may not be worth the political damage, not only to individual candidates, but to the Democratic party. Barack Obama obviously doesn’t care about the party; he cares about the agenda his puppet string holders want.

They’ve already admitted that this thing is a disaster and will do just the opposite of what they are saying publicly. Let’s see if the goons in Washington stumble over reality and put this thing to bed, or continue with my theory of aborting a free market democracy, and remaking the country into the bastard child of a 1000 socialists.

If this turns out to be a successful experiment, the lives of millions around the world, including our troops would have their quality of life not only improved, but restored.

Researchers in Europe have successfully tested a robotic hand attached to a human being. Sure, there are other robotic prosthetics out there, but this one is different. Electrodes were attached to the patient, and the hand was being controlled using the patient’s mind. That’s right, the thoughts of the patient somehow traveled through the electrodes and controlled movements of the hand. The hand wasn’t actually attached; it was connected to the man via electrodes, but test to see if it could actually be done was apparently successful. Obviously, the ramifications of this could be tremendous. Limbs, eyes, organs-the possibilities are endless. That sounds like bionics to me. When I saw the article, I immediately thought of our troops who are risking it all in Iraq and Afghanistan. They don’t always come back the way they left as we all know, but this could change that dramatically.

The reason I bring this up is because the Pelosi health care bill that oozed its way out of the house has a provision that would tax all medical devices. So in the event that an American research team ran with this idea and actually developed an attachable limb that could be controlled by the brain like a real limb, it would be taxed under Pelosi care. Minimum, it would make the device more expensive, and at worst, it would cause development to be cost prohibitive. Add the other taxes coming at doctors, researchers, and others who generally live in the Pelosi target salary range, and bombshell breakthroughs like this never happen. Pelosi wants to throw 13 new taxes at us, not to mention what Reid wants to nail us with.

Just one more reason to kill Pelosi care, Reid care, Obama care, Apollo care…whatever you want to call it. To stifle this kind of ingenuity so everyone can have a band-aid is just bad science.

The misogynistic side of Obamacare has reared its ugly head. They just can’t wait to show you what government run health care will look like, so they are issuing guidelines now just to give you a taste. This one’s for the ladies.

U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), a panel appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services apparently, has come up with new guidelines for breast cancer screening. Previous guidelines were annual mammograms after age 40. The new guidelines are much looser. The panel recommends that women should now not even bother to get screened until age 50. After that, instead of the annual mammograms, the recommendation is for bi-annual testing. Yes, they have decided that the risk of cancer for women under 50 is so low, that they have no need to be tested at all. CDC numbers suggest a different scenario. Oh, and ladies, don’t bother giving yourself self exams either. Nope, they don’t work. Don’t even check yourself out.

Whatever you think of mammograms (and I do have issues), the fact is that the test can detect cancer early, and potentially save lives. If a 40 year old woman decides not to be tested, and indeed does develop cancer, the likelihood of a successful recovery just took a nose dive. Remember, it was Obama himself that said if further treatment would not really add to the quality of life, you might want to think about hospice care. Well, that would certainly cut costs, wouldn’t it? It would also weed out the sickly ones as well, something Ezekiel Emanuel (Rahm’s brother) would be very happy about. After all, this sounds exactly like his cost benefit analysis report.

Whether you think personally that the test is worthwhile or not is not the issue. The issue is that the government has gone into pre-rationing mode. What happens when a health care bill with a public option passes? Let’s say a doctor is not paid for running the test for women under 50. That’s right ladies, you won’t get the test. It’s not clear exactly who appoints this panel, but what is clear is that it is straight from the government. Use your imagination. It looks like at this point, the best health care advice anybody can get is don’t get sick.
