Of course, that depends on what your definition of criminal is. The open borders crowd couldn’t have done it alone. Lucky for them they have allies at every level to assist in the suicidal agenda. As a result, law and order patriots are under attack, and with amnesty on the table in Washington, there won’t be any help coming.
A federal judge has ruled in favor of an open borders cabal, ruling that sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office engaged in racial profiling in their effort to curb illegal immigration. The suit was brought by a small group of open borders zealots, and if the linked story is any indicator, Arpaio never had a chance.
U.S. District Court Judge Murray Snow sat on the case for eight months after the seven day trial, ruling that not only did Arpaio’s crew engage in racial profiling, but also detained people for unreasonable amounts of time. What that time actually amounts to is anybody’s guess, but in this case Snow decided on his own that it was too long. A hearing is now set to determine what the fate is for the sheriff’s office. Likely it will disband or neuter the efforts of Arpaio to apprehend illegal aliens. Keep in mind Arpaio is already barred from working with federal authorities, based on the Justice Department’s attacks. They haven’t brought any charges against Joe, but that didn’t stop them from imposing penalties anyway.
The case hinged on sweeps conducted by Arpaio’s office to catch illegal aliens-and any other law violators. The success rates speak for themselves.
During the sweeps, deputies flood an area of a city — in some cases, heavily Latino areas — over several days to seek out traffic violators and arrest other offenders. Immigrants who were in the country illegally accounted for 57 percent of the 1,500 people arrested in the 20 sweeps conducted by his office since January 2008, according to figures provided by Arpaio’s office.
In some cases. This is Phoenix folks, and the likelihood that an area is not Latino is pretty slim. And 57 percent of those arrested were illegal aliens? Nice job. That also means that 43 percent were not illegal aliens but had committed some other crime that warranted an arrest. Nice job. Too nice for the open borders lobby, and once again, a single person, in this case judge Snow was handed the power to dismantle a successful operation. Not only to dismantle, but to hold those engaged as criminals.
Opens borders goons may argue that Snow is a Bush appointee, therefore the ruling was objective. Keep in mind that the whole Bush clan is as open borders as Obama. Remember McCain-Kennedy? Bush said he would sign that nightmare if it made it to his desk. Remember Ramos and Campeon? Bush let them rot in jail. Remember the million illegals marches? All of that was on Bush’s watch. Yes, he installed Snow.
Whatever draconian measures Snow imposes on Arpaio is just a continuation of what he has been enduring for years. This is a private suit. The Justice Department isn’t finished with him. There are other suits pending as well. They are making an example of Arpaio for those that might have the temerity to try and enforce immigration law. After all, amnesty is on the way, and the last thing they need is a guy like Joe Arpaio manning the welcome wagon.
Not a peep of support for Joe Arpaio coming from Washington, and don’t hold your breath waiting for it either. The decline of a nation occurring before our eyes.
